Dwight Summer Camp 2026 – Summer Camp Coordinator

Our beautiful facilities—including a six-lane pool, visual and performing arts studios, pickleball courts, gyms, design and science labs, and close proximity to Central Park—provide the perfect backdrop for summer adventures. Dwight Summer Day Camp is seeking a highly organized and proactive Summer Camp Administrator to support the day-to-day operations of our camp program. This role is essential in ensuring a smooth, safe, and engaging experience for campers, families, and staff

 

Dates & Schedule: Seasonal position

  • Camp Duration: Monday–Friday, June 8 – August 7, 2026 (Closed Friday, June 19, for Juneteenth & Friday, July 3, for Independence Day)
  • Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Location: 94th Street Campus: 705 Columbus Avenue
 

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $24–$28/hour, commensurate with experience
  • Lunch provided
  • $150 bonus for completing required camp orientations & training
  • Staff perk: children of staff working 7–8 weeks may attend camp for $50/week per child

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee attendance tracking across all divisions and follow up with parents/guardians regarding camper absences
  • Manage the camp phone, serving as the primary point of contact for parents/guardians and providing timely responses and updates
  • Support billing, payment processing, and related administrative tasks, as needed
  • Assist in coordinating events, special activities, and field trips
  • Proactively address and resolve any issues or concerns that arise during camp operations
  • Ensure adherence to all safety policies, procedures, and regulations

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in camp administration, education, recreation, or a related field preferred
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in basic office software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, registration systems)
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred
